Our History and our Future

New Life Community Church first organized in Sioux City in December 1909.  For the last century, the church has ministered to the needs of Siouxland.  Over the years, the church has had two buildings in the Morningside area (currently located at 4800 Stone Ave.), and the church has undergone a handful of name changes.  Most recently changing its name from First Church of the Nazarene to New Life Community Church of the Nazarene in 2009.

While buildings and names have changed...the commitment of the church to proclaim Christ has never faltered.  And through all the change that comes with 100 years of ministry, the church continues to rely on God's leading to be the church He wants us to be for today.  We are excited about what the Lord is doing in our community and in our church.  We invite you to come and see!

As a Church of the Nazarene, we partner with more than 24,000 other churches around the world.  As a denomination we support schools, colleges, universities, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, hospitals, and more.  We support over 700 missionaries both in North America and throughout the globe.  We believe that God is calling our local church as a member of the Church of the Nazarene to be a Christian people, a Holiness people, & a Missional people.  That is who we were a century ago, and with the Lord's help, that is who will be in the next century as we grow.
